GENERAL ASSEMBLY MINUTES
NOVEMBER 13, 2008 @ 5:30 P.M.
PRATT COMMUNITY CENTER
On Thursday, November 13, 2008, Secretary/Treasurer Dea Dix-Brown called the meeting to order at 5:45 p.m. Those attending were Gene Rose, Lori Jones, Milt Martin, Arlan Hair, John Cochran and George Stevens.
The first item of business was the approval of minutes from the October meeting. Gene R. made a motion to approve the minutes as written and Lori J. seconded. The motion carried.
The next topic to be discussed was the Treasurer’s Report. The checkbook balance was $3,514.62 after paying SC Telcom $34.83; Taylor Printing $10.00 and a deposit of $2,000.00 from the Lakin Family Foundation. John C. made a motion to approve the Treasurer’s Report and Lori J. seconded. The motion carried.
Gene R. gave an update on the Veterans Day ceremony. The ceremony was held at Skyline Gymnasium and had a great turnout.
Dea stated there was a water leak in the drip system and the system also needed to be winterized. George S. stated that he would take care of it.
The contents that belong to AVMC that are being stored in the north hangar need to be removed before the first of 2009.
The next topic addressed next was the new webpage. Milt M. stated that he had the webpage up and running. The address is www.prattveteransmemorial.org . Since Arlan H. completed the conversion of the video histories, the idea of using some of DVD’s on the web site was discussed. It was decided to send a release form to the interviewees before proceeding with the project. John C. offered to contact Gary Eppler and Larry Kiley to see if release forms were used in the beginning.
Dea ask the group about skipping the December meeting due to everyone being busy for the holidays. The group agreed to resume the meetings in January.
Gene R. made a motion to adjourn the meeting and George S. seconded. The motion carried and the meeting adjourned at 7:00 p.m.
