ALL VETERANS MUSEUM COMPLEX, INC.
GENERAL ASSEMBLY MINUTES
MAY 5TH, 2009 @ 5:30 P.M.

PRATT COMMUNITY CENTER

On Tuesday, May 5, 2009, Secretary/Treasurer Dea Dix-Brown called the meeting to order at 5:40 p.m. Those present were Jack McCawley, Milt Martin, AC Boland, Bud Simmons, Lori Jones, John Cochran and Phillip Schulz. Don Nass was a guest.
The approval of the April minutes was discussed first. Phillip S. made a motion to approve the minutes as written and John C. seconded. The motion carried.
Dea B. gave the Treasurer’s Report next. The checkbook balance was $1,716.12 after paying bills to SC Telcom $34.49 and Queen Bees $600.00 (6mos.) and a deposit of $20.00 from a donation.
An update on the Memorial Day ceremony was addressed next. Jack M. stated the ceremony would be at 2:00 p.m. on May 25th. and went over briefly what the itinerary was. Dea B. stated there were five (5) bricks to be installed and Jack M. suggested that she call him when they were ready for installation.
The next topic was an update on the museum status. Phillip S. stated that the parachute building was placed on the National Register on April 22, 2009 and was already on the State Historical Register.
Dea B. ask the group what the next meeting date should be to get the Veterans Day ceremony planned. It was mutually agreed to meet September 1st, 2009 at 5:30 p.m. at the Pratt Community Center. Dea B. stated she would email a reminder closer to the actual meeting date.
Don Nass was introduced to the group. He was a CFC gunner on a B-29 Superfortress stationed at Pratt from September 1944 to January 1945. He was traveling through Pratt on from Arizona to his home in Wisconsin. It was decided to give him a tour of the airport after the Memorial group meeting was adjourned.
Phillip S. ask the Memorial group about giving the book, Pratt Army Air Field by Dorothea Giannangelo, to the B-29 Museum group for fundraising. Lori J. stated that Mrs. Giannangelo wrote it for the Memorial group for their fundraising efforts. John C. stated that the Memorial will need money as well for upkeep. After some discussion, it was agreed to split the printing cost and profit 50% 50% between each group.
John C. made a motion to adjourn the meeting and Jack McCawley seconded. The meeting adjourned at 6:15 p.m.
THE NEXT MEETING WILL BE TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 1, 2009 AT 5:30 P.M. AT THE PRATT COMMUNITY CENTER.
